We all need lessons, whatever standard we are! Learning means improvement and improvement translates into enjoyment.

Many skiers like to take advantage of the free day in another resort which is offered with a six-day Les Deux Alpes lift pass.

Children can start lessons and skiing from 3 years old, however we would strongly recommend private lessons at this age.

If your child is five years old, has at least one weeks skiing experience and can link snow plough turns on green runs, then you can book them directly into a Level 1 Children’s group.

The ESS Children’s Ski Garden is a safe, controlled area where our youngest skiers can learn to ski and have fun exploring the snowy environment.

As a beginner, you will need at least a week of group lessons or a series of three two hour sessions to feel safe and in control on your skis or snowboard.

Skiing is a sport that involves physical exercise so the fitter you are the easier it will be, especially at higher altitude.

On the first day of ski school make sure of the following:

VIP courses have a maximum group size of four, compared to nine for a normal group lesson.

We recommend a minimum of two hours for private lessons because this allows you to make real progress over the course of the lesson.
