PREBOOKING GROUP SKI AND SNOWBOARD COURSES

GENERAL CONDITIONS VALID ALL YEAR ROUND (WINTER AND SUMMER SEASONS)

Before making an online booking for group lessons, please be sure you are making the correct choice of product. It is in your interest to fully understand our level system and timing of lessons before you go ahead and finalise a reservation.

Names, surnames and ages are required for all clients booking on line.
Please provide mobile contact numbers with bookings as we may need to contact you prior to lessons commencing.

Before choosing private or group lessons for skiing or snowboard lessons please choose your ski level from 0 to 6 (Adults or children) and snowboard levels 0 to 3. (Adults or children aged 10+)

If adding a lift pass to lessons, please check you have chosen the correct lift pass according to levels and ages (Adults or Children).

We advise all guests to choose their levels carefully and correctly before booking as this will help with our initial selection process. Before choosing group lessons, clients should think carefully about their age and physical condition, remembering that the instructor will be focusing his attention on others as well as yourself. If you are unsure in choosing between private or group lessons, contact us and we can provide personalised advice.

Please ensure all information provided is correct, the ski school will not be responsible for the consequences of clients providing incorrect information concerning levels, ages and abilities. Incorrect information can result in lesson time being lost, modifications to weekly planning or lessons being cancelled.

Group lessons once booked are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for private lessons.

For private lessons groups of minimum 1 and maximum 4 clients (adults or children) should be made up of a similar level.

Private lessons are generally sold in blocks of minimum two hours, however on arrival in the resort modifications can be made to bookings to include extra hours on certain days according to availability.

ACCIDENT INSURANCE: The cost of the lessons does not include accident insurance, lift passes or equipment.

The additional cost of the lift pass does not include accident insurance. If you require accident insurance this is possible to purchase directly at the main ticket office before you commence skiing. Ask us for further information on your arrival.

The European Ski & Snowboard School holds public liability insurance which shall only be used and activated when European Ski & Snowboard School is found to be at fault by a competent court of justice.

Prior to arrival: CANCELLATION
In the case of cancellation any refunds will be calculated on the following basis.
Cancellation 60 days before arrival = 100% refund
Cancellation from 31 to 59 days before arrival = 75% refund
Cancellation 30 days before arrival = 50 % refund
Cancellation from 16 to 29 days before arrival = 37% refund
Cancellation 15 days before arrival = 25% refund
Cancellation less than 15 days before arrival = 0 % refund

All clients that have pre-booked private or group lessons must report to the ski school the day before lessons are due to start to collect tickets and confirm and agree on exact meeting points and times. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they know exactly where the meeting point for lessons are and how to access these points with the correct time delay.
Meeting points and times of lessons can change due to lift closure and climatic changes, clients must be aware and keep themselves informed in the case of alterations to schedules.

Lessons are non-refundable and cannot be moved in the case of bad weather or illness.

Lessons that are cancelled due to illness or injury or other reasons can be claimed for on most holiday insurance policies with a covering letter provided by the ski school.

In the event that total lift closure or any other circumstance beyond our control causes the European ski and snowboard school to cancel private ski or snowboard lessons, guest will be offered alternative private lessons to recuperate any hours lost for the equivalent amount on alternative days or time slots according to European ski school availability. If clients are unable to reschedule lessons proposed by the European ski school because they have alternative plans or are no longer in the resort, lessons will be reimbursed to the full amount (100%), however all guest should be reminded this alternative solution is only in the event of total and not partial lift closure.

In the event that total lift closure or under any other circumstances beyond our control causes the European ski and snowboard school to cancel one or more days of group ski or snowboard lessons, every effort will be made to recuperate any time lost, however no refund for group ski or snowboard lessons will be issued.
In the event of total lift closure for more than 5 consecutive days of any ski or snowboard group lessons a full refund (100%) will be issued. All guests should be reminded this alternative solution is only in the event of total and not partial lift closure.

It is the ski school’s responsibility to move clients from one group level to another according to progression to ensure the clients have the best learning experience. However, if a beginner (level 0/Adult or Child) is unable to follow the natural progression of the lowest level 0 group after day three he or she may be asked to supplement with private lessons or a “Top up clinic”. If after day four the same client is unable to progress with the rest of the group an amicable agreement will be made with the ski school as how to progress, however no refunds will be issued. The European ski school will do it’s best to satisfy requests for family and group members to be together in the same groups, however this is not always possible due to technical and numerical reasons.

Lessons cannot be considered fully booked until they are fully paid.

What to do when you arrive in the resort:

Please print and bring this confirmation invoice to our office before 7.00pm on the day before your lessons are due to start. At this point any lift passes that have been purchased will be issued alongside ski school tickets for all lessons with correct times and meeting places indicated.

Our office staff will be able to give you directions to the meeting points.

At this stage, any equipment that has been reserved will be fitted out at the rental department at the base of the slopes.

Failure to visit or contact our office the day before your course is due to start may result in lessons being cancelled.

Reminder: If your lessons are booked to start at 9:00am we will ask you to be at the meeting point ready to go at 8:45am

On Sundays, group ski lessons meet at 10:30am ready for an 11:00am start. If you arrive after 11:00am at the meeting point you may not be able to participate in the first day of lessons. This is due to the difficulty of reaching the instructor and organising for you to meet the group on the mountain without disrupting the lesson for those who arrived on time. If you miss the lesson due to arriving late you will not be entitled to a refund but you will be able to join the lesson from the second day.

For all Snowboard group lessons we ask you to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before your lesson is due to commence.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS FOR WINTER 2016/17

Ski group lessons

From 11/12/16 to 07/01/17 all ski courses will run from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Please be at the meeting point by 9:30am on the first day of your lesson. If you arrive after 10:00am at the meeting point you may not be able to participate in the first day of lessons. This is due to the difficulty of reaching the instructor and organising for you to meet the group on the mountain without disrupting the lesson for those who arrived on time. If you miss the lesson due to arriving late you will not be entitled to a refund but you will be able to join the lesson from the second day.

For group lessons our objective is to form ski groups of a maximum of 9 adults or children of similar standards and a maximum of 6 for snowboard groups. Children over 10 years of age may be placed in an adult group of a similar standard; children must be four years of age and over to join children’s lessons, unless otherwise agreed with the ski school. We do our best to divide children into groups of similar ages however this is not always possible in low season.

In low season if the ski school does not reach a minimum of five clients per level in a ski group, lessons will be exchanged for two hourly sessions daily for the same amount of days in groups of maximum four with the benefit of lift queue priority. Clients in ski or snowboard groups of less than four clients will receive private lessons (Times schedules according to availabilty) in exchange for the equivalent amount of money.

SPECIFIC SUMMER CONDITIONS

For group lessons our objective is to form ski groups of maximum 4 adults or children of similar standards and snowboard groups of maximum 4. Children over 10 years of age may be placed in an adult group of a similar standard; children must be at least six years of age and over to join children’s lessons, unless otherwise agreed with the ski school. We do our best to divide children into groups of similar ages however ever this is not always possible in the summer season.

If the ski school does not reach a minimum of 3 clients per level in a ski or snowboard group, lessons will be exchanged for the equivalent amount in private lessons.

We highly recommend that clients are in possession of personal accident and liability insurance that covers for summer related activities, (Mountain biking, walking, etc.) including skiing that covers for accidents and liability in France. Those booking race coaching sessions that include racing techniques must also make sure that their insurance will cover them in the event of accident or liability. Please also be reminded that the cost of lessons or lift pass does not cover for accident of liability insurance.

In the event of weekly group lessons being lost in the summer season due to the closure of the Glacier for any reason (Bad weather, mechanical failure) every attempt will be made to recuperate lessons on other days, however if this is not possible a refund will be issued on the following basis.
One lost skiing day = No refund. Two lost skiing days = One day’s refund. Three lost skiing days = Two days’ Refund. Four lost skiing days = Three days’ refund. Five lost skiing days = Four days’ refund. Six lost skiing days’ = Five days Refund.
