Why British Families Choose Our Private Ski Lessons

Every winter we welcome hundreds of British families and returning guests to Les 2 Alpes. Our English-speaking instructors create a relaxed, friendly environment where everyone feels comfortable, whether you're learning to ski for the first time or looking to improve your technique.

Lessons are fully personalised around your family's needs, your ski level and your holiday plans, helping you progress faster while enjoying more time together on the mountain.
CAN CHILDREN AND ADULTS HAVE PRIVATE LESSONS TOGETHER?

We recommend that adults and children take private lessons separately, as the teaching methods and progression for adults often differ from those for children.

Children's lessons focus on fun, integrating games and intuitive skills. Teaching adults requires a more rational, technical approach.

Children tend to pay more attention and engage better when they are alone with the instructor.

Separate lessons yield the best results for learning.

However, if you prefer to ski as a family, the instructor will adapt to ensure a positive learning experience for all. Tips, skills, and personalized feedback will be provided to each member of the group, while maintaining a social atmosphere that meets your needs.

For FAMILY LESSONS with both adults and children together, children must be at least 7 or 8 years old. If children are younger than 7, separate instructors should be arranged for children and adults.
Can we take private lessons together despite the fact that we have different ski abilities?

For the best learning experience, we recommend that everyone in the group has a similar ski or snowboard level. This allows your instructor to tailor the lesson to the group's pace, maximise skiing time and help everyone improve together.

Small differences in ability are usually not a problem, and our instructors are experienced at adapting lessons to mixed groups. If the difference is significant, we may recommend separate lessons so that every participant gets the most from their time on the mountain.

Can skiers and snowboarders take a private lesson together?

A skier and a snowboarder can NOT follow a private lesson together as the technique, the equipment, the movements of the two sports (ski and snowboard) are completely different.

Skiing and snowboarding are two different technical sports with a specific progression and different fundamental movements.

The exercises and teaching proposed by the teacher in a private ski lesson are different from those of a private snowboard lesson.
Does the cost of a Private lesson include a lift pass or should I purchase it separately?

No, the cost of a Private lesson does not include the lift pass. If you are an intermediate or advanced skier you should purchase a full resort lift pass before the lessons start. This will avoid wasting any time when you meet your instructor.

If you are a total beginner then you will probably not require a lift pass for the first 2 or 3 hours of lessons as the instructor will make use of the free ski lifts at the base of the resort. Usually after 3 hrs you will probably need a lift pass to access lifts and slopes of a slightly steeper gradient

Children of 4/5 years old will not require a lift pass for the first few lessons the instructor will keep you informed if you need to have a lift pass to progress further up the mountain

For children that have not reached their fifth Birthday a FREE LIFT PASS can be acquired with the presentation of proof of age at the main central ticket office.
Can I purchase a 6 day lift pass as part of a package with private lessons?

Yes, you can purchase a six day lift pass together in a package with private lessons, if you take at least five days of private lessons.
Does the price of the lift pass & lessons include accident or liability insurance?

The cost of lift pass and lessons DOES NOT include accident or liability insurance.

We highly recommend the purchase of accident / Liability insurance that will cover first aid , medical expenses, mountain recovery etc.

Insurance can be added as an extra to the purchase of a six day lift pass at the main ticket office , however this must be done before the lift pass has been used for the first time.

The price is around € 3.50 per person per day.
Does insurance cover for loss of lessons and lift pass in the case of injury or illness?

Lift pass insurance purchased locally in Les Deux Alpes DOES NOT COVER in the event of loss of lessons and lift pass due to injury or illness.

Before the start of lessons make sure your personal holiday insurance covers you for loss of lessons and lift pass in the event of injury or illness.

The ski school can provide proof of loss of lessons and lost time on lift pass with a covering letter to be presented to your insurance company with an accompanying doctors certificate.
